In order to prevent the proliferation of a counterfeit money ring, Holmes and Watson must track five clues hidden separately in music boxes that have been recently auctioned away. When the new owners of the music boxes start turning up dead, the pressure is on, and both Holmes and Watson will soon realize that the mysterious chain of clues are anything but elementary.

Made in 1946, this entry for Holmes and Watson is a fairly good one. No attempt to hide who done it, an intelligent, talented and beautiful female adversary plays a game of wits with Holmes, almost proving to be his undoing. As with most Holmes movies with Basil Rathbone, definitely worth the watch.
