'Oyster' is a parable about origins and authenticity. When a bookfalls from the sky, striking a young hipster in the head, thefashionable extinctions of oysters and hipsters become inexplicablyintertwined. This film is a short journey from city to shore, retracing the pathof the Blue Point Oyster on it's historic journey from the GreatSouth Bay to New York City's dining plates. When a cynical hipster(Andrea Merkx) is struck in the head by a falling book, she becomesmagically awakened to the plight of the oyster. Upon discoveringthat 'Local Blue Points' were nearly driven to the brink ofextinction by farming, our enlightened hipster joins forces with alocal waiter on a journey to discover the truth.
