Joseph, an 18 yr. old Mexican-American high school senior, is brutally attacked by two locals who represent the bigotry and ignorance of a predominantly white, middle class town in California. In his rage, Joseph murders his attackers and is shot in the process. Scared, wounded, and alone, he breaks into what he thinks is an empty house only to find classmate Lolly who fears the worst from the intruder.
