James Blake a successful and influential lawyer is engaged by his friend George Sartos to shoot down a bill in the U.S. senate with the result that scores of small businesses have to close down. When Blake witnesses the results of his actions in a small frontier town, he decides to sell his stocks, divorce his unfaithful wife, change his identity and use his money to help Charlotte Brown, his newfound love. Together, they reopen Springvale Canneries. Things go wrong, however, when he is accused of his wife's murder and his disguise is blown by Sartos who wants to take over Springvale Canneries. Only Blake's skill as a lawyer can now save Springvale Canneries!
